‘Here They Come’ is the digital single set to be unveiled on August 18th, from The Janitors’ new EP ‘Evil Doings Of An Evil Kind’, released through Bad Afro Records on September 22nd.
Kicking off with a pulsing drone followed by a sparse guitar line, building and layering into a dense interwoven tapestry of sound, in tune with the very fibres of your being…
An eastern tonality themed, rhythmic vibe, drives the track relentlessly and purposefully.
Elements of jarring dissonance, combined with direct lyrical content, enunciate a message of political discord.
A message directed against a growing and unsavory right-wing desire to use fear and intimidation, for the sole purpose of disguising the greed behind the reactionary, industrialist puppet-masters.
This is a logical and measured transition from the 2012 EP’s ‘Worker Drone Queen’ and ‘Head Honcho’, which found combined vinyl release through Cardinal Fuzz in 2013 as ‘Drone Head’.
Paul Ferguson, drummer with Killing Joke, once described their own music as being like “the sound of the earth vomiting”, this track takes that concept and frames it effortlessly within our current zeitgeist.
Cerebral, gut-wrenching, soul-searching music at it’s very finest.
Come and check these guys out at the Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia on 26-27th September, you will not be disappointed.
A first rate review. It’s refreshing to read something that doesn’t at some point refer to reviewers own personal preferences, likes/dislikes, or in the worst case scenario, the reviewers own ego. It’s great to read a straight-forward piece, that gives a clear picture of what the music and band are all about, and at the same time manages to convey an obvious love and passion for music. Spot on Chromaticism, can’t wait to read your next review !
Cheers Bob, much appreciated!
