By way of introduction the Nomadic Firs‘ bandcamp page informs us that, “Nomadic Firs is a swirling conceptual sound journey orchestrated by the diy-lonerisms of Ryan Boos. With a decade of fermentation, the concept continues to evolve into a colorful devolution.”

The “swirling” nature of this track, captivated my attention when Ryan first contacted me.

Again courtesy of the bandcamp page, “The first (official) remix for Nomadic Firs comes in the form of a mostly “Experimental-Psych-Pop” overhaul of Matt Honkonen’s original Sea of Clouds off ‘Take Me Home’.”

I understand that like myself, Ryan has been enjoying the self-imposed exile, a young family brings. Sea Of Clouds marks a return to the fray, following a prodigious output in his former incarnation.

Sea Of Clouds is a heady, intoxicating brew, alive with shimmering resonance, the lush production complimenting the wholesome, world worn vocal, delivering a transfixive, enveloping ambience.

There is a succinctness to the name Nomadic Firs, which underscores this release – Sea Of Clouds deftly juxtaposes the mutable elements of air and water, melding them with a wandering, effusive stability.

Sea Of Clouds is available via bandcamp, check it out along with Ryan’s extensive back catalogue.
