ESTRONS craft that elusive breed of barbed hook, guaranteed to leave you dangling on their line and dancing to their tune.

ESTRONS are an Alternative Rock band based in Cardiff, UK.

Fronted by Canadian-Swede Taliesyn Kallström, they bring punchy melodic songs, combined with powerful vocals, loud raw guitars and busy beats.

Meaning ‘ALIENS’ in their native Welsh, the main premise was to gather a band of general misfits and outcasts that never quite belonged to any country or nationality, being of mixed and international ancestry. The create honest, raw and energetic music for anybody who want to hear something a bit different.

Earlier this week, I had the good fortune to make the e-cquaintance of Claire Lim who along with partner-in-crime Paul McCallum, co-founded A Badge of Friendship in 2009.

Their roster is choc full of the sort of bands like The Van T’s, who scratch my “melan-phoric” itch.

Prophetically, just a few days before hand, I had been lamenting the demise of Sons and Daughters – a sublime favourite of a band who sadly called it quits in 2012.

Bearing comparison to the likes of Future Islands and Band Of Horses, The Jaguar Club have continued their love affair with 80s New Wave with brand new track ‘The Last of Night’.

Having released their EP ‘Close‘ this year, the New York based five piece are heading over to the UK for a short tour before returning to America to support Idlewild on the US leg of their world tour at the end of October.
