The Pox Men will be getting proceedings underway on Thursday 30th April at the Distorted Perspectives Festival in Letterkenny.
Here is a recent excerpt from a gig in March to give you a flavour of The Pox Men in action…
Describing themselves as, “From the mists of the Irish bogs we come a wanderin’, carryin’ our guitars and shoutin’…we are the men of the Pox…” and “We are a four piece (guitar, bass, percussion, vocals) with an occasional violinist and whistle player. We play all original material, and have been described variously as a cross between The Wolfe Tones and The Sex Pistols, or Horslips teamed with Captain Beefheart. We fire out rowdy, thunderous, Celtic power anthems, with a dark mystical element, straight from the boglands of old Ireland.”
The Pox Men see the Distorted Perspectives Festival as, “An opportunity to try out the psychedelic turf we’ve been workin’ on…”
Their eponymous album is available on Bandcamp.
